【宇治香園 創業百六十一年記念作品】 愛知県在住の音楽家Ramzaが、茶をテーマに制作したアルバムを京都の茶問屋より発表 愛知県在住の音楽家Ramzaが、茶をテーマに制作したアルバム『cause/effect』を京都の老舗茶問屋、宇治香園“Tealightsound”より発表する。前作『ひび割れの鼓動 hidden world code』で探求した静謐な音響からさらに踏み込み、鋭利で大胆な、驚異の音世界を現出させている。茶を直接的に表現するのではなく、世界そのものが原因と結果（cause/effect）のネットワークの産物であるという根源的な視座に立ち返り、茶に至る“原因”から、茶という“結果”を観察／イメージして制作された。 マスタリングはKabamix（LMD）、アートワーク・写真・デザインは画家の伊藤潤が手掛けている。 Aichi-based musician Ramza announces "cause/effect", an album inspired by tea, through Kyoto tea company Ujikoen's Tealightsound Aichi-based musician Ramza will release "cause/effect", an album created around the theme of tea, through Tealightsound, the music label of long-established Kyoto tea company Ujikoen. Moving beyond the serene soundscapes explored in his previous work, "HIBIWARE NO KODO hidden world code", Ramza creates a sharp, bold, and astonishing sonic world. Rather than attempting to directly depict tea, the album returns to a fundamental perspective: that the world itself is the product of an interconnected network of causes and effects. Ramza created the work by observing and imagining tea as an "effect", tracing it back to the many "causes" that ultimately give rise to it. Mastering is by Kabamix (LMD), while the artwork, photography, and design are by painter Jun Ito. （リリースインフォメーションより） 一杯の茶は、茶葉と水だけでできているわけではない。 豊かな山々、土の奥で巡った水、光を受けた時間、季節の揺れ、摘む手、火を入れる手、待つ時間、偶然や記憶、またその情念であるとか。 それらの“原因”が手を取り合ってようやく「お茶」と呼ばれる“結果”が立ち上がるのではないかと。 家でゴロゴロして、怠惰を貪りながらそんな事を思い立った訳です。 『cause/effect』は、その複雑な“お茶”という原因と結果のネットワークを音で触れようとした作品と言えます。 「お茶そのものを表現する」という考えを手放し、お茶を成り立たせている“原因”を音楽に変換したのです。 私たちは、突然存在している訳ではなく ふいに浮かぶ記憶や、名前のない感情、石ころや猫の匂い、マズい酒、突然庭に生えた雑草でも何でも良い それら多くの存在が“原因”となって“結果”として形作られ存在しているという事。 受け取り、影響を与え、変わり続ける。その繰り返しのなかで、 私も、お茶も、今ここに在るという事。 大きな事を語るつもりはありません。 けれど、私とお茶の間に静かに生まれたこの感覚を、 音楽としてこの世界へ手渡してみたいと思いました。 宇治香園とのこの試みが、これからのお茶の在り方に新たな作用を及ぼす、ささやかな“原因”となる事。 さらに、この音楽が誰かのもとへ届き、その人の内側で次の思考や感情を生むまた一つの“原因”となる事を願っています。 そしてその連鎖の先に、まだ名づけられていない豊かな“結果”が立ち現れることを、静かに待ち望んでいます。 A cup of tea is not made simply of tea leaves and water. It is made of rich mountains, water that has traveled through the depths of the earth, time spent absorbing sunlight, the shifting seasons, the hands that pick the leaves, the hands that fire them, the time spent waiting, chance and memory—and perhaps even the passions and obsessions bound up in all of these things. Perhaps it is only when all these "causes" join hands that the "effect" we call tea finally comes into being. That thought occurred to me while I was lying around at home, indulging in my own laziness. "cause/effect" can be described as an attempt to touch, through sound, the complex network of causes and effects that we call "tea". I let go of the idea of "expressing tea itself", and instead transformed into music the various "causes" that allow tea to exist. We do not simply appear in the world out of nowhere. A fleeting memory, an unnamed emotion, a pebble, the smell of a cat, a bad drink, a weed that suddenly grows in the garden—it could be anything. All these countless things become "causes", taking shape and existing as "effects". We receive things, influence things, and continue to change. And in this repetition, I, too, and tea, too, are here, now. I have no intention of making grand statements. But I wanted to pass into the world, through music, this quiet sensation that emerged between myself and tea. I hope that this collaboration with Ujikoen might become a small "cause"—one that brings about a new effect in the way tea may exist in the future. And I hope that this music, upon reaching someone, becomes yet another "cause" within that person, giving rise to new thoughts or feelings.
