日本を拠点に活動するヴォーカリスト／ソングライター／プロデューサー、NTsKi（エヌ・ティー・エス・ケー・アイ）のセカンド・アルバム完成。

米Orange Milkと共同リリースした1stアルバム『Orca（オルカ）』（2021年）はデビュー期からの音楽的変遷とヴァリエーションのショーケース、コンピレーションの性格が強かったが、この『Calla（カーラ）』は、はじめからフル・アルバムとして制作されたトータル・プロダクション。アルバム収録曲は『Orca』収録の「Lan Se」の共作者である英プロデューサー、Dan Shuttのデモが元になっており、ミキシングは『Orca』と同じくThe Anticipation Illicit Tsuboiが行った。

『Calla（カーラ）』は、彼女の幼少期からのごく個人的な体験と記憶のかけらを、音に、作曲に、歌に、編曲に、細かく丁寧に転写していくことでひとつの世界を「結晶」のように出現させる。『カーラ』は、そのゆったりとしたテンポ、練られたアレンジ、耳をひくメロディーが混合し、爽やかで魅力的で肯定的、ノスタルジーの切なさ、メランコリーの感覚に裏打ちされた音楽的声明となっている。内省的なこのアルバムは、自己のエクストリームさを主張し続けることよりも、アオシスのような憩いを共有することの意味を無言で提案している。ここに収録された曲は、温かく輝き、優しくきらめき、喚起的でエモーショナルな、簡潔で愛らしい珠玉の作品集だ。

装丁画はShusaku Yoshikawaが撮影した写真を元にEllen Thomasが描いたもの。

NTsKi. Nom de musique of Japan-based vocalist/songwriter/producer; pronounced n-t-s-k-i. "Calla" is her 2nd album, a unified statement of her musical vision at this point in her development, with all-new songs melding her breathy and intimate voice, singing in Japanese and English, with organic acoustic sounds and distinctive electronic colors. NTsKi possesses a charming melodic gift as well as a distinctive production style, giving "Calla" a cohesion and subtle momentum, with relaxed tempos, interesting arrangements and intriguing melodies fusing into a focused musical statement that is refreshing, charming and forward-looking, underpinned by a sense of wistfulness, nostalgia and melancholy. As with her 2021 "Orca" release, co-released on EM Records and Orange Milk, NTsKi is joined by engineer Illicit Tsuboi and British musician/producer Dan Shutt.
